If you are not satisfied with any decision in relation to a Right to Information (RTI) or Information Privacy application you have made, you may ask for a review.
There are two options available.
- You may request an internal review as long as you do so within 20 business days of being told of the decision.
- Alternatively, you may request an external review of a decision if you do not wish to take advantage of an internal review or if you are dissatisfied with the result of an internal review.
Requesting an internal review
If you wish to apply for an internal review, you must do so within 20 business days of being told of the decision.
A person senior to the original decision-maker will review your application and inform you of the review decision within 20 business days. Reasons will be given if access or amendment is still refused.
To apply for an internal review, submit a written application to:
Manager, Administrative Review
Queensland Treasury
GPO Box 611
Brisbane Qld 4001
Fax: +61 7 3224 2981
Email: rti@treasury.qld.gov.au
Requesting an external review
If you wish, you may write to the Information Commissioner and to apply for an external review.
The Information Commissioner may change or confirm the decision made on your Right to Information or Information Privacy request, or try to mediate a settlement between the parties.
For more information about requesting an external review, visit the Office of the Information Commissioner website.
