Shared Service Implementation
Treasury is leading and supporting the new Government-wide approach to delivery
of corporate services, the Shared Service Initiative. This is coordinated
through a temporary Shared Service Implementation Office, established in January
2003. The Office’s objective is to develop the Government’s shared
service model to enable implementation by agencies, shared service providers
and the technology centre of skill (CorpTech) to generate benefits from cost-effective
service delivery. The human resources, pay-roll, finance, information and
communication technology functions of all Government agencies are within the
scope of the Initiative. This is a key outcome of a 12-month review of the
delivery of corporate services across the Queensland public sector. The review
was an activity under the Aligning Services and Priorities initiative reported
in the Financial and Economic Policy output.
Full implementation of this Initiative is planned to be completed by 30 June 2006.
