Introduction

The Queensland Treasury Annual Report 2003–04 details our activities in achieving Government outcomes and priorities and ensuring the Government is well positioned to meet the fiscal objectives and key priorities outlined in the Charter of Social and Fiscal Responsibility.

This report communicates Treasury’s activities and performance against planned objectives
and goals for 2003–04 and has been developed with information provided by our clients, stakeholders and staff, our strategic and business plans, Ministerial Portfolio
Statement and Queensland State Budget papers.

It provides the Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Sport and our stakeholders with
an understanding of our financial and non-financial performance and activities for
2003–04 and is our key accountability document to the people of Queensland. Our stakeholders include members of the community and community groups, industry organisations and business groups, universities and government agencies at all levels.

This report is structured around our seven outputs and how these outputs contribute to whole-of-Government outcomes and priorities to create opportunities for all Queenslanders to grow and enjoy a better quality of life.
