Creating a safe and healthy workplace

Induction

Treasury's bi-monthly induction program helps new employees familiarise themselves with our organisation. This year a total of 244 employees completed the induction program. These seminars are in addition to the induction a new employee receives from their work unit and are an important part of creating a safe and healthy workplace. The seminars focus on sharing knowledge about Treasury as well as providing new employees with information on their rights, entitlements and obligations. The seminars also help to give new employees an insight into our organisational culture, values and strategic plan.

Workplace health and safety

Treasury runs a proactive workplace health and safety program which focuses on a risk management approach to creating a safe and healthy workplace. The program provides workplace health and safety advice to all employees during the induction process as well as to senior and middle management. We undertake regular work area assessments and audits to ensure Treasury's ongoing compliance with relevant State and Federal legislation. In addition, our regular corporate health program which provides flu vaccinations for staff and executive health checks, helps to keep our staff healthy.
