Responsible gambling committee celebrates 10 years of service
The Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee (RGAC) celebrated its 10th anniversary in June 2006.
As a major source of advice to the Government on emerging social concerns associated with gambling, the RGAC is the cornerstone of the community, industry and Government partnership which supports the Queensland Government's Responsible Gambling Strategy. This important group provides advice on a number of issues and initiatives including strategies to ensure a socially responsible gambling industry, programs focusing on problem gambling, and community protection and rehabilitation.
The RGAC held an informal morning tea to celebrate its 10 years of service, attended by the Deputy Premier's Parliamentary Secretary Mr Neil Roberts MP, several previous RGAC Chairs and a previous Deputy Chair.
Meeting four times per year, the RGAC will next meet in Bundaberg in September 2006. Committee members include representatives from gambling support providers, industry peak bodies, community groups and Government agencies. The RGAC provides its advice directly to the Deputy Premier.
