What we do

Our diverse responsibilities and services include:

Managing a strong economy and financial position

The cornerstone of our role is assisting the Queensland Government to manage the State's finances, including the preparation and oversight of the State Budget.

Managing Queensland's interests in Government owned corporations (GOCs)

Through the Office of Government Owned Corporations, we govern the operation of GOCs to ensure they conduct their businesses effectively and in accordance with public expectations of accountability.

Delivering economic and statistical research for smarter decision making

The Office of Economic and Statistical Research's business is to provide statistical and economic services to improve planning, decision making, policy development, performance evaluation and resource allocation for Queensland.

Delivering and overseeing efficient and equitable State taxation

Through the Office of State Revenue, we manage Queensland's revenue base by delivering simple, efficient and equitable revenue administration for State taxes and grant and subsidy schemes.

Regulating the gambling industry in the interest of the community

The Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation is responsible for maintaining the integrity and probity of the gambling industry in Queensland and ensuring that, on balance, the State and the community benefit from gambling.

Managing superannuation for current and former Queensland public sector employees and their spouses

Through the Government Superannuation Office, we administer the QSuper Fund (State Public Sector Superannuation Fund), the Parliamentary Contributory Superannuation Fund and the pension entitlements of judges.

Implementing shared services across the Queensland Government

We are responsible for delivering the Shared Service Initiative, which aims to provide high-quality, cost-effective corporate services across the Queensland Government. Treasury is also responsible for CorpTech - the Queensland Government's provider of specialist information and communication technology support for corporate services applications and infrastructure.
