Our organisation
Queensland Treasury has no single legislative charter. It came into existence in 1859 with the separation of the Colony of Queensland from the Colony of New South Wales. The appointment of the first Colonial Treasurer, Mr Robert Ramsay Mackenzie, was gazetted on 15 December 1859.
Our structure (featured below as at 30 June 2008) is organised into portfolio offices, with each office producing the outputs that help deliver contemporary, accountable and responsive government, economic success, growth in our cities and regions and safer communities in line with the Queensland Government’s priorities.
