Treasury delivers a broad range of whole-of-Government fiscal and financial management services to the Government and agencies through the Fiscal and Taxation Policy branch. Key responsibilities of the branch are:
State Budget management and strategy
Treasury is responsible for State Budget management and strategy development which assists the Government in meeting its priorities for the Queensland community. This includes monitoring and reporting on the State Budget, management of the State's financial assets and liabilities, developing risk management strategies, developing financial management policies, providing technical advice to the Government on fiscal policies and the maintenance of a competitive tax environment, providing advice with regard to the Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Act 1982 and managing rating agency reviews.
Fiscal information and systems
Treasury manages the whole-of-Government financial and non-financial information system, Tridata. This includes maintaining the system, ensuring its currency and relevance to meet Government needs and providing training and support.

Whole-of-Government reporting
We support the Government's commitment to transparency and accountability through the preparation and distribution of reports on the State's finances. This includes the State Budget Papers, Mid-Year Fiscal and Economic Review and the Report on State Finances.
