CGC annual updates

For further information

In the interim years between reviews, the CGC publishes an annual update of the State relativities used to determine the States' GST revenue. The next annual update is expected in February 2005, with the results to be applied in the 2005-06 financial year.

Although the basic method remains unchanged, the CGC consider the impact of any new developments, such as tax reform or legislative changes. Queensland's position on how each of the new developments should be treated in the update is submitted to the CGC.

In addition, the data underlying the CGC's recommendations are updated each year. These data include all State revenue and expenditure details and other non-financial data such as socio-demographic composition and economic data. Treasury is responsible for liaising with the CGC, Queensland Government Departments and agencies, the ABS and others in supplying the required data.
