1.1 Identify desired community objectives (DPC; approved by Cabinet)
Community objectives represent a comprehensive list of the Government's objectives for the community. They encompass all aspects of Queensland communities' experiences, including economic development, community well-being and environmental sustainability. All Government services contribute to the achievement of one or more community outcome(s) over time.
Governance
The current community objectives were approved by Cabinet in October 2001, and restated in the revised Charter of Social and Fiscal Responsibility in April 2004.
The community will hold Government accountable for the appropriateness of those objectives, and success in achieving them, through the electoral process. Performance against community objectives is published annually in the Government's Priorities in Progress report.
Timing
No specific timeframe is set for the Government to review community objectives: there is potential for review at any time.
