Steps of the component
The steps involved in this component are:
- 2.1a Undertake strategic planning (4 or more years)
- 2.1b Develop MPS Output Statements (1 year)
- 2.2 Undertake agency operational planning
- 2.3 Undertake asset strategic planning
- 2.4 Undertake ICT resources strategic planning
- 2.5 Undertake other agency planning
These steps then feed into each agency's resource allocation processes and into the management of those resources to deliver the agency's services (i.e. outputs).

This diagram depicts how the Government's objectives, as defined through step 1 of the framework and external influences such as identified community needs and expectations and inter-governmental relations contribute to the planning process.
