The introduction provides a snapshot of Queensland, details of the Government's five policy priorities, and a summary of the Government's performance against these priorities.
Priorities in Progress informs the community about the impact of the Government's policies and initiatives in the 2001-02 financial year. It assesses selected activities and reports the progress being made towards the achievement of the Government's five key policy priorities.
To achieve this, each priority has a:

performance summary - highlighting areas of achievement and opportunities for improvement;

a moving forward section - reflecting future policy directions;

performance themes, associated indicators and commentary; and

significant Government evaluations, policy and legislative developments.

The Index provides a list of new and enhanced performance indicators as well as indicators relating to children and youth and Indigenous Queenslanders contained in the report.
