Labour market analysis

Treasury monitors the performance of the national, state and regional labour markets. Analysis of labour market trends assists the development of Queensland Government labour market policies and employment objectives.

Labour market information is available as part of Treasury publications:

  • Queensland Economic Review - (monthly since August 2005 [previously quarterly]) - a brief summary and analysis of issues related to selected economic and financial indicators for various sectors of the economy, such as dwelling approvals and retail turnover, as well as commentary on the health of the Queensland economy in general.

  • Annual Economic Report - detailed information on the recent performance of the major components of the Queensland economy and the factors, both external and internal, which influence that performance. Includes a particular focus on Queensland's labour market performance.

  • Briefs - current information about specific economic indicators.
  • Research papers - research papers provide analyses of employment and labour market issues.
  • Queensland State Budget - budget papers contain information about initiatives that assist in achieving the Queensland Government's employment objectives.
