Queensland Government Insurance Fund
The Queensland Government Insurance Fund (QGIF) is an administrative arrangement within Treasury and aims to improve the management of insurable risks through identifying, providing for, and funding, the Queensland Government's insurable liabilities. The Fund is a self-insurance arrangement into which government agencies pay premiums to meet the cost of claims and future insurable liabilities. QGIF commenced operations on 1 July 2001.
