Regional data

Treasury, through the Office of Economic and Statistical Research (OESR), provides a range of regional information gathered from several data sources.

QRSIS
The Queensland Regional Statistical Information System (QRSIS) holds the most recent and revised regional statistical information available from a variety of Federal and State Government sources, including the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Queensland Regional Profiles
The Queensland Regional Profiles provide an overview of major economic, social and demographic information on Queensland's regions and are a useful reference tool for state government departments and agencies, local government authorities, policy makers, researchers and students.

Local government area (LGA) profiles
The LGA profiles are standardised statistical reports based on a selected region of choice. A single LGA or multiple LGAs can be selected to create a user-defined region. Topics including population (including growth rates), business, building activity, agriculture and employment are covered in each report.

Thematic Maps of Queensland
The Thematic Maps of Queensland provide a unique and informative representation of the State's economy, people and regions. Thematic maps allow for quick identification of data relationships and comparisons between small area geographic regions.

Crime and Social Profiles Local Crime Areas
These profiles have been prepared to provide an easy to use reference for relative crime rates at small geographical levels. The report contains analysis of offence statistics for the period 1 July 1998 to 30 June 2001 at a regional level based on local government areas.

Spatial Price Index
This publication contains information derived from a survey of regional prices in selected Queensland cities and towns. The data are expressed in the form of index numbers, which allow comparison of relative retail prices between selected centres and Brisbane at the time of the survey.

Regional Population Growth
The Regional Population Growth brief presents selected Queensland statistics on the estimated resident population of local government areas, as released annually by the Australian Bureau of Statistics' publication 'Regional Population Growth' (Cat. no. 3218.0).
