Financial Assurance Framework Reform

More information on the Financial Assurance Review – Providing Surety is now available.

The Queensland Government is proposing a redesigned financial assurance framework – referred to as the tailored solution.

Financial assurance is a type of financial security required for some resource activities that is provided to the Queensland Government.

The proposed tailored solution is part of a package of reforms that will be progressively rolled out to deliver a leading financial assurance framework and positive rehabilitation outcomes.

The package of reforms is in response to a review of the State’s financial assurance framework in November 2016. For more information on the review and its findings, download Review of Queensland’s financial assurance framework (PDF 1,570 K).

The Financial Assurance Framework Reform discussion paper (PDF 405 K) outlines the full package of reform, including the tailored solution, as well as information on how these will be implemented.
