The Queensland Government Statistician’s Office (QGSO) provides maps, and reports and raw data across a wide range of topics including the economy, demographics and society, industry and development, and regional Queensland.

QGSO is part of Queensland Treasury and its primary role is to provide research services and statistics to inform policy and decision-making within the Queensland Government. The research and raw data is also publicly available for use by business and the wider community.

QGSO collaborates with government agencies, universities and research institutions providing advice on data gathering, reporting and analysis. They can help manage and provide guidance on data management and conducts official surveys on behalf of Queensland Government agencies under the authority of the Statistical Returns Act.
