Employee wellbeing

We understand that good mental and physical health, as well as connection to others, are vital to happiness and wellbeing.

At Queensland Treasury we encourage our employees to prioritise their health, providing a platform to empower them to take proactive and positive action that supports their own wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of their colleagues.

Our leaders are supported and encouraged to cultivate a team culture that supports wellbeing, sustainable productivity, and open and respectful conversations.

Our wellbeing program

Our wellbeing program is closely aligned to the Queensland Government Be healthy, be safe, be well framework and includes:

  • an annual wellbeing calendar of activities including lifestyle coaching, mental and physical health seminars and training
  • workplace and online events that reflect and celebrate our organisational culture and values such as International Women’s Day and Harmony Week
  • an annual flu vaccination program
  • an employee assistance program offering confidential counselling and wellness coaching
  • strong engagement in local and community giving and connection, including Community Recovery Ready Reserves, blood donations, Dress for Success donation drive, social club activities, and DV Challenge’s annual ‘Darkness to Daylight’ event
  • reasonable workplace adjustments that recognise and support our diverse workforce
  • support of employee network groups such as the self-named Oldies Working Longer (OWLs) group, an employee founded initiative that provides older employees with opportunities to connect and share their work experiences and learnings.

Employee safety is paramount

Queensland Treasury provides a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace for all employees. We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment and discrimination – any grievances are taken seriously and addressed.

Support for employees affected by domestic and family violence

Queensland Treasury is committed to eliminating domestic and family violence in Queensland. It has no place in our homes, communities or workplaces.

We are committed to educating employees about respectful relationships and behaviours, promoting gender equity and supporting its employees.

We continue to show leadership by delivering on the Queensland Government’s Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Strategy 2016–26 and associated action plans and by providing support to employees affected by domestic and family violence.

In February 2024, our Executive Leadership Team reaffirmed their commitment to eliminate domestic and family violence in Queensland and support employees affected by domestic and family violence –  Not now, not ever. Together.
