Treasury’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cadetship program

Treasury’s cadetship program focuses on increasing the department’s cultural diversity, specifically representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in recognition of the vital contributions First Nations people can make across economic, cultural and organisational domains.

Our cadetship program is designed for university students seeking paid, part-time work experience in their chosen discipline while they continue their studies. A cadetship placement offers the opportunity for self-motivated students to broaden their experience and give them an understanding of the work Treasury does.

At the completion of the cadetship program, our cadets are supported to apply for temporary and permanent positions within Treasury. If a cadet is in their final year of study, they are supported to apply for Treasury’s graduate program.
